FSCA is a private, co-educational school located 10 miles from Ft. Bragg, in
downtown Fayetteville. We serve students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
We offer two programs for our high school students, College Preparatory and
Gifted Student.
We serve students who want a low teacher-student ratio (1:15), direct and explicit
instruction, multisensory learning experiences, assistance with organization, and a
higher rate of individualized attention than is typically offered in public or larger
private schools.
FSCA' s Gifted Student Program affords FSCA the recognition of being Cumberland
County's first and only school that has a dedicated program for students with mild
to moderate learning challenges!
This program is not a watered down version of traditional schooling. There are no
reduced expectations, but the program emphasizes individualized instruction.
Supplemental material and unique scheduling arrangements have been carefully
researched to match a wide variety of learning styles. FSCA's Gifted Student
Program has much of the same material as our traditional program (College
Preparatory Program), but is presented in ways which really hit home with students
who have mild to moderate learning disabilities, allowing them to grasp concepts
and increase their knowledge. In the Gifted Student Program, we offer instruction for
students who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate learning challenges
such as:
- Attentional Deficit Disorder (ADD or ADHD)
- Dyslexia and Dysgraphia
- Processing Disorders (CAPD)
- Short and Long Term Memory Retrieval Issues
- High Functioning Autism
- Aspergers Syndrome Disorder (ASD)
- Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD)
- Other mild-moderate learning challenges
